Projections

A bespoke framework for web-based light

Bridging the digital and physical worlds, this project explores how realtime web-based graphics can escape the browser to inhabit real-world environments. By mapping digital content onto physical geometry, the software creates a mixed-reality canvas where light interacts with solid objects.

Prototype Schematic and Data Flow

Why a custom tool? While standard industry software is incredible for video, I wanted a way to bring the generative, organic nature of my web work into physical space. I built this lightweight framework specifically to render live code rather than pre-recorded loops. This allows the physics and logic from my browser-based sketches to react instantly to the architecture they touch.

It includes a custom mapping tool and supports input from sensors and gamepads, turning a static projection into a responsive environment. It is a way of turning a room into a responsive space that rewards exploration and play.
